Question guage problem, help?

so i have a 97 z, and whenever i bought it it was like this, but the oil pressure gauge shoots up way past 80 whenever i start it up, and stays like this all the time that its running.

like the gauge isn't working or something.

it's almost hitting the steering column, like 3/4 in past 80 on the gauge.

anybody have an idea?

You need a new oil pressure sending unit. Or you need to repair the wires that connect to it.

You need a oil pressure sender socket, lol, mouth full.
You can get one at Autozone.

Something like this, test it out on the new sending unit, see if it fits.
