obd1 to obd2
im doing a motor swap in the next few weeks and need some info/help.
heres what i have: 93 lt1( bolt ons) a4, 3:73 (rite now)
im switching to another lt1 out of a 96 vette, i have the hot cam installed and have ported heads and intake. i want to spray the car (100-125) but i want to have the car tuned before i do that. has anyone ever heard of switching out the obd1 to the obd2 to make it tunable? if not the only thing ive heard is pcm for less doing a burnt chip and i dont really trust there judgment on the correct tune for me spraying a 125 shot. anyone got any suggestions?

Just leave it obd1. I actually went from obd2 to obd1 for the ease of tuning with tuner cat. What software are you wanting to tune the car with? I would stay away from LT1 edit but thats just my opinion.

You might want to swap from a 1993 computer to a 94-95 version (still OBD-I). That would make it a little easier. You would have to swap engine harnesses and IAC (or change the connector). There might also be some other wiring changes that need to be addressed.

I can see wanting to do this swap. Remember to keep the hub and balancer from the car because the Vette accessory depth is different, just use your Camaro pieces and pull the timing cover so you can remove the CPS reluctor, it affects hub depth.
The 93 and 94+ fuel rails are different as are the intakes to accomodate the different fuel rails, I am sure you can make either setup work just be aware of it going in.

You can buy the software, but I do not recommend trying it yourself without experience. Programming is not for novices.

This is completely and utterly the most false thing I've read in awhile. OBDI cars are preferrable to tuners because of the ease of tuning them. Any competent tuner should be able to tune given the software.
