quick question

well i just replaced the pump in my car and it seems to be runnin just fine but today when it got hot it lost power n sputtered n backfired a little bit. i know i did the pump right but my question is do u think that the sputtering was just caused by my accel ignition coil getting hot and fowling out?

any help will appreciated

You can always replace your coil if you suspect its bad. A replacement one is not too expensive.
