Coolant on the side of the block?
Coolant on the side of the block? Well I just pulled my T56 to be rebuilt. While removing it I noticed some coolant colored drops and some areas where the drops had dried on the passengers side of the tranny bellhousing. When looking above the starter I noticed one of the wiring looms had some coolant on it and the block was wet below where cylinder head meets the block. All the lines for the heater core look bone dry as well as the firewall so I don't think that is the case. My head/cam swap was done about 6 years 45Kmiles ago.
I had my Y pipe off and looked up the primarys and they appear to be dry inside and all look the same, not really how much coolant it would take to make the inside of the primary wet if it was leaking into the cylinder?
There has never been any coolant puddles on the floor and I don't appear to be loosing much coolant because the radiator is full. So the leak must be more like a seap, anyone ever seen something like this?
I'm going to go inspect the plugs now and try to do a compression and leakdown test. I really don't want to be changing head a gasket
