Crank hub removal I'm sure this has been covered before. What is the easiest way to pull the crank hub? I can see a lip on the shaft that it needs to clear. I though I would ask the experts before I screw something up.

you need to keep the bolt in but not all the way in. your going to get a hub puller and press against the bolt. be sure not to bottom anything out. you dont need to pull the balancer off the hub

Pushing against the loosened bolt is a good way to ruin your crank threads. The proper hub removal tool uses a hardened rod that you insert into the hole to push against (it's not threaded). You can do the same thing with an old long head bolt with the threads ground off.
