If I were a smart a$$ I'd say drop the cradle....it's probably the easiest way, but the most labor intensive....Pull the starter, and lift one side of the motor at a time, aside from that there isn't much else you can do....The LT1 is definitely harder than the LS1 for some unknown reason

Lift the car very high! Spray all bolts with PB blaster, liquid wrench etc a day in advance. Be generous. For reference those wooden blocks under the wheels are almost a foot high.

Remove steering joint on drivers side. Alternator, belt, starter, and dipstick tube on pass. side.

Remove egr and air line fittings and lines. I just cut mine as i didnt plan on keeping them. Block off with gaskets etc.

Loosen bolts on cats. I used a impact to do so as i was impatient and didnt spray anything down with pb plaster/liquid wrench. I lucked out, nothing broke, i dont suggest just doing the same

I cut the y pipe in the middle as again i wasnt keeping it, and ground away at the weld at the I pipe till the y pipe was loose . Removed all of that.

Remove plugs and wires then manifolds. I actually just loosened the manifolds, removed the wires, and then broke all the plugs as i yanked it out. THen removed what was left haha.

Headers go in from bottom, extremely easy. Didnt have to lift the motor or anything for me.

Then pretty much reverse. Seems like i got the basics of it

Pretty much summed it up. Get the car up HIGH and it will be easy. I didn't have to lift the motor at all either. Just take your time and you'll get it.

I don't remember how long the LT install took as I was doing it along with many other things at once.
Search online for some undercarriage pics, you should see where everything will sit.

it really depends on your headers. all i had to do was jack it up and remove the passgerside valve cover and the steering shaft.
