Depends who you ask, my opinion is its cheaper to change valve springs than rebuild an engine b/c you dropped a valve from the extra lift on the crappy stock springs.

If you stick with a self aligning rocker arm, all you need is the rockers and the springs and it will be good to about 6,300 rpm depending on which springs you choose, but if you spin higher than that go non self aligning.

Well no, swapping springs real isn't that hard and you can rent the tool for free from you local AZ. I ran LT4 springs and 1.6rr's for a while and it was a decent little mod, you could tell it made a little more power, but dumping the stock LT1 springs has been shown to pickup a few hp too.

Well just to let you know, the LT4 springs will reuse all the stock hardware, so all you need is the springs. I have some I just took off low miles if you're interested, I wouldn't put a lot of money into springs to just turn around later and get something different that will come with the LE2 setup if I were you and if you buy decent RR's you can reuse them with the LE2 setup.
