Question about going to the track
Question about going to the track This might be a stupid question but i was going to take my car to the track in a couple weeks
to see what it will do now before i put money into it.
but this is my daily driver so my question is what are the chances of me blowing the motor?
if it helps my car is a 95 z28
100k miles
k&n cold air
borla exhaust
and thats all i know of but some friends that drove it said theres probly more done that the guy i bought
it from didnt tell me so i figured id take it to the track.
to see what it will do now before i put money into it.

Your chances are slim to none on blowing your motor as long as you shift when you hit redline.
If those mods are all that are done to the car and youre a decent driver, you should be able to go high13's/14flat with an M6. If its an automatic you should be somewhere in the 14's, probably mids.
You might wanna check your fluid levels like oil before racing, too.

If it's a 6spd, make sure you shift when you're supposed to. There's no reason to push it past redline because the LT1 actually stops making power after 5300. The motor will be absolutely fine. You actually have a bigger chance of breaking your differential than the motor.
