Trying to remove the battery, disconnected the terminals and shiz, but can't get that thing out. Is there some sort of bracket?

yes there is a bracket holding the edge of the bottom

awesome, thanks. been troubling shooting a starting problem for the last month and i've finally narrowed it down to the battery. lol.

its a V shaped part with one screw holding it down
