Default Question about the A/C system/heater core

My PCM is throwing a code 71 A/C evaporator temp sensor failure.
the local parts stores didn't have a clue and neither did the local stealerships.
So after looking through my haynes manual I found what I think I need, the book shows a pic of a connector on the cover for the heater core that is labled Evaporator temperature sensor connector.

My question is does anyone know what the part number for this sensor is and where can I find one?

GM part # 52458970. AC-Delco # 15-71978. Shown available at http://www.newgmparts.com/ .

You might be able to find one at a parts store. It is called "a/c cycling (evaporator core temp) switch".

bringing a thread from the dead. I too keep throwing code 71. Trying to find the part AC-Delco # 15-71978 but it is no longer made. Does anyone know if this part is the same for the V6 cars? Not much options around here for junk yards.
