Default Priming oiling system...

haven't heard much on the boards about priming the oil system on a new motor. i think the only problem i see is that you're supposed to let the silicone for the intake cure 24 hrs, so might run into some leaks. thoughts?

"Right Stuff" I think is rated for a quicker startup.

Besides that though once primed it is not like the oiling system will go dry in the 24 hour wait.

You can prime the oil system whenever. There's no rush to reinstall the intake manifold. A few days between would even be fine.

Priming your oiling system won't cause any problem.

There isn't enough oil spash to effect the sealant and there won't be any crankcase pressure buildup either.

I always prime until I see oil squirting from each rocker arm with NO air coming out. This calls for intermittently and manually turning the engine as I prime.

Another option is to disconnect your coil, pull the fuel injector fuse, and crank the motor over until the oil pressure comes up (that's what I did for my heads/cam swap - which may be different due to the rod and main bearings already having oil in them...)
