Default should i buy it?

I found a caliper to caliper rearend for 250 with richmond 4.10 gears and stock posi. The gears only have 500 miles on them. I know this is an insane deal but i want to be able to have reasonable rpm's at 80 with my 1993 t56(geared a little different than the 1994-2002 t56) anf 17x9 ws6 wheels. I would be at about 3000 wouldent I? Thats just too high. I have 3.23's now and hate them, specially after i jusns yanked the motor, gave it all new gaskets and seals, and added lt's, cai, 24# svo's, and madz28 tune.

I don't remember the exact RPM but with 4.10s I was doing 2300 or 2400 in 6th at 80 I think.

according to that chart ill be at 2700 at 80 with the 4.10's. Is that right? Thats way to high for a 700 mile roadtrip at 80mph.

Nice come up, I think the increased rpm won't be an issue. Not big enough to trump the low end gains at least.

2700rpm would be too high for a 700 mile trip? People used to spin 4k all day on the interstate on the way to the track, I think we are getting too spoiled with the double overdrive.

They are fun, forget having traction on any sort of street tire though.

I just made a thread about this, you'll be at roughly 2600 rpm @ 80mph in 6th gear.

I know it is possable to spin that high for that long, i just dont want to. In the last 4 months i've pulled the motor and did the following:

intake gasket
pan gasket
valve cover gaskets
throttlebody gaskets
lunati timing set
timing cover gaskets
egr b/0 plates
water pump
msd cap & rotor (yes it is working fine)
msd wires w
ngk tr55 plugs
24# svo injectors (had 22# stock)
tune by ion
poly engine and tranny mounts
pacesetter race lt's with 3" ory
felpro header gaskets
k&n fipk cai
slp airfoil
tranny output shaft seal
umi subframe connectors
hurst pro billit shifter
icm
17x9ws6 wheels
275/40/zr17 sumitomo htrz tires
monroe sensa trac rear shocks
brakes in all 4 corners with d/s rotors (not cracked yet)
20% tint
keyless remote
master window switch
driver's side doorhandle
driver's side window
t top sunshades
gatorback serpinine belt
pioneer mp3 player
alternator
fuel pump
heated o2 conversion with ac delco 3 wire o2's
new fans with shroud

I know alot of this is little thing but it adds up so fast, i just thought i'd put all i could think of so that you would see how much i've invested so far. Adding it all up actually realize how much I've spent.

You are correct. I have an M29 t56 with the .62 6th and run 3.73's. I run just under 2500 at 80. With 4.10's you will be just under 2700 with a 275/40/17 tire. A 4.10 with a M29 t56 is like a 4.56 in a 94-02 t56. That is why I went with a 3.73, it's more like a 4.10 for me.

yeah i just talked to a local speed shop who konws the difference between the t56's. he said the same thing you just did. So I will be looking for a 3.73 rear. I would buy gears but my 15 year old posi doesent like to grab for right hand corners. Maby ill just get a new posi, gears, and girdle for my current rear.....Freakin money pit.....
