Fuel pressure question
Fuel pressure question I have a autometer pod gauge in my car that says fuel pressure. What do those usually show in what part of the lines pressure and is that the same as when you put a gauge on the check valve on the motor? And what is good pressure on the autometer or on the check valve how ever it works for a 1995 trans am?
No idea where the autometer gauge is hooked up so I can't help you there.
However, if you hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the schrader valve, you want to see anywhere from 41-47 psi at KOEO and idle (with the vacuum line disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator). You want to see it hold pressure even after you shut of the car. You will also want to prop up the gauge against the windsheild so that you can close the hood and view it while you drive. You want to watch the fuel pressure as you go WOT under load and check to see that the pressure doesn't drop off.

So where could the autometer gauge possibly be reading from and what should the pressure be on there? Does it read different pressures at different parts of the fuel system?
The schrader valve being located @ the back of the intake manifold right by the fuel pressure regulator.
