The car is a swap project. 95 lt1 from a Impala ss into my 85 TA. Car is a auto w/4l60e. Current mods are: custom CAI,Shorty 1 5/8 headers w/gutted cat, 3" hooker catback, ls1 10-bolt W/3.23's, Airfoil, bmr lca, madz28 tune. The 2 passes I have ran at the local 1/8 are:
2.015 60ft 8.942@78.69
1.993 60ft 8.901@78.97

I'm sure there is an 8.8 in it as it is right now. Both passes were on some old bfg street tires. It was tuned to have a 3200 stall in it. Just haven't ordered it yet. I've got a set of alum. heads and 1.6 comp pro mag rockers to go on it when I do the cam swap. I'm sure the smaller b-body cam and iron heads are holding it back a little.

What should be next? Gears? stall?

Both gears and a stall. The combo more or less go hand in hand. A Yank ss3200 or ss3600 would be a good stall especially for Daily driving. The big questions is, will your 4l60e hold up with the stall....

some 3.73's and maybe a 3200 stall. I'm going with edge cause I've heard really good things about there stalls. How about a cutout?

I would spend the extra $100 bucks and go with the Yank. An electric DMH cut out is always a great modification. I love mine!

get an external trans cooler. #1 item for transmission failure is overheating. Keep it cool. Gear and stall will help a lot. And get some freggin tires on it after the gears and stall are put on because normal non sticky street tires will roast halfway down the track. And a shiftkit will help also!
