Gutting/Remove Cats?

How do you consider that a false statement? I am talking about converters not Headers. I assume your arguing the Y-pipe. Not trying to argue, I may be totally wrong. I would be interested to see dyno numbers on converters vs no converters for a near stock LT1 with full exhaust. I agree it changes the power curve but what about max hp and torque with out cats.
My god, if shorties are louder than LT's you must of had one hell of a stereo system. LT's increased in sound tremendous on mine, inside and out.

OP I had the same exhaust set up as you minus bad cat until I went LT's and Y-pipe. It made it much louder.

Removing the cats also increases exhaust flow, wich might kill a little bit of tq at low rpm's but the gain in the upper rpm's is well worth it even on a stock lt1 imo. Gears and the best flowing exhaust you can get your hands on is what these cars like(aside from a stall on a4's)!!!
Btw I meant the car quieted down a bit in the lower rpm's after switchin to LT's. Less drone inside the cab. Night and day difference, I have had a handful of people tell me the same after riding in it. But I was running shorties on my 383 wich was choking the engine off, so idk...

Got the factory manifolds, catts gutted, and from there back the magnaflow 3in exhaust..love the sound it will smell a little bit different but u should love the sound!
