Default bearing clearences?

I am building an LT1 with heads and cam and I was wondering what other people are running in terms of rod bearing clearence on their LT1s? Right now it is at .0018. I heard for a motor that will be driven hard .0025 to .0035 is better. I am kinda stuck and don't know if I should buy undersize bearings or just leave it alone.

I always shoot for .002-.0025 on the mains and the rods and run straight 30wt oil.

I have never, and would never build an engine that was going to be driven hard with bearing clearances under .002", but thats just me. Unless you are sure your oiling system, rod bolts, and bearings are up to the task.

I run mine at .003 main and rod.

Been using the same bearing for maybe 200 passes or more at 8k.

10w-30 oil

Honestly this probably isn't the best place to ask. A few of us build our own engines and we know what works for us and will probably work fine for you too, but we aren't professionals.
