I agree, it gives a reason to keep to only 2 people in the car when with friends. Adding 350-400 pounds in the rear plus another 150 for the regular passenger sucks. Makes the car feel a bit...well...fat.

what purpose does this serve?? isnt there a hose that runs to that hole?

Nope just a big plastic resonator that hangs down behind your fan assembly. Its only purpose is to quite down the air intake some. A waste of plastic and room IMO.

so does that hose actually lead anywhere comming off the intake elbow? or can i just take it off and seal up the hole in the elbow?

you can take it off and seal it with a bottle of V05
