Default What kind of posi is this?

Im looking for a posi and gears, or maby just gears. I have 3.23's right now and really want 3.73's. I found this on ebay, but it says its locker posi? They guarantee the gears and posi are good, but i will buy an install kit with new bearings. I just dont understand, you either have a locker or a posi, so wtf is this? It looks like a mechanical locker to me.

if im not mistaken it is a locked true posi and not a limited slip. I might be wrong.

a 2 series is used when your car originally came with 2.73 gears. 3.23 and up is 3 series.

So you just want a limited slip then.

Yeah i dont think a locker would be good if you into drifting (no im not some punk kid lol) and such, theyr too on and off with no modulation.

Yes you do, but the action posi gets them spining in together through a clutch style mechanism and a locker just locks. So if you come into a corner and the posi gradually slips smoothly into lock. A locker will just snap locked and break the inside tire loose and send you sideways almost too fast to even controle. Like when you take a right hand corner and ou can feel the posi working, a locker would just freakin lock and send you out in a hurry.

Also, a locker is for 4wheeling so it can lock with one tire in the air. A posi would just burn up with one wheel in the air because it will slip like it is designed to. Thats why rubicons and such come with lockers and fbodys come with posi's

ya that is why i was asking. I didnt know if maybe he had a a4 and a previous owner put 3.42 in there.

If you are a m6 though then go with 4.10 using those are pretty much the same as having a a4 with 3.73
