Would have been a killer race with my last build!!!(11.7@115) Would pull you off the line hard then you would hawk it down on the top end to a virtual draw. Once you get all the kinks ironed out that thing is gonna haul for a street car.

It seems like I was just reading the results from the 08 shootout not too long ago...hope this year goes by as quick because I am REALLY looking forward to running next year!!!

Me too i want a rematch!!!
The car will be running way better by then, crazy how fast the shootout came upon us. I didnt even have a chance to test the car untill qaulifing! By round 3, I figured how to make it work, and it was running good untill i pulled the Air filter.
That would have been a dam good race!!

Looks like you guys had a blast. If my car still has an LTX in it next year, I'll try to get out - is there an award for traveling the most miles to the event?

It's a press picture from GM of an '06 coupe (I used to have that exact color C6). My Z06 is silver, and a very fun ride. It has been the motivation for looking at doing a 427 LS3 or 440 LSX/AI ported All Pro 12* heads/custom HR cam engine for my '97.

ZR1's are still marked up stupidly.

Not to gripe or anything because I really am not, but are there any other tracks to choose from with a better DA? I know that both events have had very high temps. Would be nice to see some of you boys laying down some 8-second smack, and you aren't going to do that in 3600DA. I am sure there are tons of other considerations that go into hosting an event like this with scheduling around other track events, logistics for all members, and basically the tracks own willingness to host such an event. Were there any other dates open at that particular track? Maybe sometime in the fall with the weather being cooler?

That was my gripe about the event. Everything was great.... heat and DA was definitely not a wise choice! LOL

The lsx shootout was in Memphis TN, but would be a longer haul for our west coast friends.

I wouldn't mind TN or TX seeing as how I am in FL and would be less of a trip, but in all fairness to everyone it should be centrally located.

It would be interesting to know the locations of the racers who attended. Maybe they had twice as many east coast people as west coast, who knows. I do know that myself being from the wny area, we are just coming out of winter hibernation around April, car goes on the road mid/late May, sometimes June. Tracks try to open in early April around here, but usually get rained out. I usually get my car out and about in full swing in the late summer, and for whatever reason have more money to boot then too. A fall race would be better for guys like me since it's hard to get excited about a race when i'm in single digit weather looking out at snow on the ground in Jan/Feb. I would say that you'd need the car out for a solid month of testing and tuning and working out bugs before venturing out for a race 1000 miles away.

BTW the tracks around me hit sea level a lot of times, lol. I live about 30' above.

LOL

I used the correction table on wallace racing for 3600 DA and got this for you....

9.0169@149.733

That's right, knocking on the 8-second door.

jakesz28's run of 9.12@149 would have been a

8.72@155.92

Basically anyone running a 9.400 or quicker would have been in the 8's had the track been blessed with sea level DA, a 9.40 converts to 8.99 with 3600da

Not really With N20/FI and highly highly modified cars the gains are about 2 tenths.
Us slower N/A guys pick up a hell of alot more.
The track is at 800ft so it not terrible, but the DA really killed it. Not sure how you could predict that.

This is the one I use
http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php
Its from the nearest airport so it may have been 3600 at the track but I think it was closer to 3100-3300 through out the day.
