Default Cam swap question

Well I'm helping a friend swap a motor out. He wants a cam though. My question is if installing a used cam in a used motor, say 100-115k miles, should I worry about the cam bearings? Just wondering if anyone has done a cam at this mileage and had issues. Its not really in the budget at all for a complete rebuild, well maybe. What's the going price on a kit to replace the cam and crank bearings, new rings, etc?

Replacing the cam and crank bearings and rings is a complete rebuild.

As long as the cam bearings look to be in good shape I wouldn't hesitate to do it. 100k miles on an LT1 doesn't mean much.

Well where the complete rebuild is coming from is in case we rebuild his current motor, and hopefully can reuse his pistons, rods, crank, etc. I'm worried about it due to the knock though, the reason we are pulling his motor.

A local motor has 100k out of a Fleetwood, naturally I hope my friends heads are fine so we can swap the iron heads out. I've never done a cam, but I imagine its a lot easier if I have the motor sitting on the stand and not in the car.
