Default Possible OPTI issue, please help guys.

A little history, had a stock rebuild about 4k miles ago. After about 3k miles the car would miss and breakup under WOT, between 3500-5800 rpm where I get off the throttle. When it starts missing, I can get off the throttle then back on the throttle and the missing goes away. The OPTI was replaced with a new AC Delco unit (I think it was that brand) during the rebuild. I think the OPTI is the problem. Right now the water pump and timing cover is off and I am considering a new OPTI. Am i able to replace just the cap and rotor of the OPTI, or do I have to get a whole new one. Remember this unit only has about 4k miles. Any help is really appeciated guys.

vented or unvented opti? If Vented u ever replace the vent harness? Or inspect the electrical harness (both vented and unvented)?

I'll check the harnesses to see what they look like.

What trouble shooting did you do to make you pinpoint the opti as the problem?

You can just replace the cap and rotor if you which. But I usually recommend replacing the whole unit for good measure.

What I would do is remove the opti and open it up and inspect it.
