Guys actually have put LT1 intakes on LT4 heads, the sealing margin above the port is just thin.

Honestly I would sell the LT4 heads to finance having the LT1 heads ported, you will be further ahead that way and no chance of sealing issues.

The LT4 heads are king in bench racing land, the results here in the real workd don't quite support the bench racing claims though.

The best way to do this would be to add extra material to the top of the flange (by TIG weld). Then take it to a good machine shop and have them mill the sealing surface. It would probably be cheaper to install an LT4 intake (or Edelbrock).

All this negative LT4 talk makes me want to build one!

A STREET one with a rev limit of 7000rpms? Put it in a 3600lbs car use 3.73s and 3600 or less stall. Put some miles on it?

I am confident you could pull off a better build than about any one else here, but what works on a racecar is not always what is the good choice for those of us with milder goals and smaller budgets.

I understand what you are saying, but not everyone wants to build a 3600 lb street car with 3.73 gears and a 3600 stall. Each to their own...
