Default Help removing #7 spark plug

Okay Im going to start replacing plugs and wires today. So far so good. I removed #1,3,and 5 easy. I removed the #7 plug easy but I cant remove the wire. It look like its it supported by some type of metal plate so I cant remove the wire. Do I have to remove this plate?
Once I put in my new MSD 8.5 wire will I also need to put that plate back in as well?
Oh yea its a LT1 1994 Z28

Yes there is a heat insulating plate that runs the #7 spark plug wire along the block. You have to remove the bolts that hold the plate the block to get the wire off and run the new wire underneath it.
On my car I just cut the spark plug boot and pulled the wire through. Then I ran my new wire around the header ziptied away from the header (where the brake lines are) and wrapped in heat sheilding material. I also use Accel heat sleeves at the spark plug boots. Work great.

No, you probably dont need to re-use it. I am not sure if it will fit back on with the new wires. Just grab it with some pliers and yank. They have more than likely been on there for 15 years!

I have many of my wires run underneath the motor mount on the pass side, not that it has anything to do with #7
