Default Opti Testing?

Can you test an opti in any way to see if its good or bad? Just wondering because I may get a used one and would be nice to see if its working before I put it on.

You can have it load tested for free at Autozone or perhaps other parts stores, however that doesn't necessarily mean it's good. I had a red top that after a week it would loose its charge. Got it tested and it showed good. I thought it was a parasitic draw, but decided to get a new battery anyway and the problem was gone.

Yeah I'm old, tired and sometimes crotchety. In that case you can have the opti tested at any shop which has a oscilloscope or go to shoebox's page and try these types of tests:
