Default Coolant Leak

Ok so on my LT4 I'll post a pic with this thread. If you are facing the car its the metal tube right above the top bolt on the water pump housing. We tapped it to make sure it hadn't backed out. I will see tonight if that helped stop the leak. Has anyone else had this issue? If so what did you do to solve it? I'm thinking about getting another housing and replacing mine if this doesn't work.

See the pic below on what i'm talking about.

The the thermostat housing or the 90* elbow for the upper heater hose? If you have a hole in the thermostat housing, a new one should get you back on the road. I'd fix it soon, you don't want to get water on the opti...

It's the 90* elbow for the upper hose. If you are facing the water pump it's right above the top bolt to the water pump housing. I think we may have twisted it lose over the years replacing the opti, pump etc. It's the metal line thats pressed into the water pump housing. I think the seal has been weakened over time and the only solution is to get a new housing and replace it.

I haven't been driving the car. It's a seeping slow leak, but still it's directly over the opti..so should be fixed soon.

A friend suggested that to me. I do have someone that can weld but I'll have to ask if he can do aluminum.

You might have to take the Water Pump off and get that area around the Tube Brazed..that works too.
