Lunati Timing chain
Part # LUN-93094, its 108 and its for the non vented optis. Any one use it or know any thing about it? I have a brand new complete GM opti on the car as is, I'd like to reuse it and I dont want to spend any more money going over to the vented opti stuff If I dont have to.

Thats what I was thinking, the only other option is that Comp Chain for non vented and it costs a ton of money, would be cheaper to just go vented an a LT4 chain. That Lunati chain doesnt cost much at all, I would just hope its a little better than a stock timing chain. I dont think I'm going any thing to radical, just want a nice rough cammy idle

You need to convert to the new style opti to use the double roller. The opti is driven differently with the older style (hence the length difference in cam dowel pins - which you will also need to swap).

If you do go double roller, be careful which one you get.
This is a CompCams unit, for a hydraulic roller motor.

I could not find anything else wrong with the motor other than the cam gear. Everything else was fine. So my assumption is that the cam gear failed.
The Cloyes has a solid center section for the cam gear.
