HELP might be buying another LT1 Okay guys kinda getting sirius on this one because i need an DD baddllllyy, i need ADVICE plz
Its a 95 lT1 z28 not sure of miles gotta check (how much is to much for these cars)
its a mechanic's car- is this good or bad?
its a clean interior and spotless exterior
Its an auto- what should i look for in test drive?
car looks all stock inculding orignal ugly rims
the car is going to MY mechanic, is there anything specifc he should check on an older lt1 auto?
i am getting a car fax as well,
hes looking for 3900 but going to see if i can get it 3200/3500ish is this fair if its a Clean car
ME: i am a sucker for red car lol and its a lt1 auto great for DD/
Btw im a LT1 guy love the sound and LOW end power
tht and i never drove or raced an ls1 so i dont know wht i am missing LMAO
and its way under MY price range

these are fun cars but have many probs He iis selling for a reason...find out the real one
My 1995 Z28 has 147,000 miles on the origional engine, clutch and tranny
I have replaced: window motors, water pump, AC compressor, Tranny mount, motor mounts, starter, hoses, battery tires, head lights, fog lights, other lights, front brake, radiator, and the key fob battery. I still like the rumble and poer of the V8. the car is quick and driving it is vigorous fun.

Price depends on the area and mileage. I think you can get a high mileage LT1/4L60E F-body for ~2k in my area. But that's because there are so many around. My buddy just bought a '94 LT1/T56 z28 for 1700. Ran rough, a new set of spark plugs and wires cured that.
One thing that would scare me is the "it's a mechanics car." That might be code for there's problems that need to be addressed...
Have your mechanic test for the usual things, leaks, ticks, knocks, smoking studdering, etc...
