Abs Inop
Abs Inop Okay, this warning light is being gay...whenever I start the car it's normal, comes on for about 2 or 3 seconds then goes off. Sometimes it will come on later when I'm driving, then I'll shut off the car, start it back up again and the light goes off. I know the light has something to do with the Anti-Lock Brakes, but can someone tell me what it really means and why it only comes on sometimes?
The ABS INOP light is just a dummy light (obviously). I had mine come on after a pass at the track once. Never happened again either and I had the ASR off at the time. I wouldnt really worry too much about it unless your ABS isnt working...

Is it a 3 channel (no TC) or 4 channel (traction control)?
Have you had the gears or diff changed? If so you might want to see if the reluctor ring on the diff (3 channel) has moved away from the sensor...this can cause an intermitent problem. Other than that, first thing I would do is check the wires to the speed sensors to make sure they are not cut or frayed.

You may also want to have your brakes blead. The ABS system needs to be blead properly by a shop with the right tools. Had that problem on a 97 SS. The light would come on continuously, PITA too. Good luck
