Default rocker body hitting stud

hey guys, im fairly new here, but hangout over at ls1lt1.com alot. recently ive been having some valvetrain issues, so i said hell with it, gonna go NSA.
its a rather lengthy and descriptive post, so ill just copy and paste it. let me know what ya think, the more ideas ya got the better. thanks.

just got in my ultra golds from shon (great shipping and smooth transaction btw) along with my new guideplates (NAL-14011051) and im also running arp 7/16 studs (ARP-134-7103). and for the sake of argument and to simplify things, im using a 7.200 pushrod and stock lifters.

so heres the deal, when i set the rocker down on the stud, it rocks! the body bottoms out on the stud before it can touch the valve stem or push rod! and heres the kicker, if i were to use LONGER pushrod (which would make sense to get it off the stud but....) my geometry would be so far off, the roller would almost be on the very edge of the valve stem tip.

what the hells goin on? im using parts (except the rockers) that people use all the time without issue on the engines, what gives?

Here are the only solutions i can see at the moment
1. different stud without the taper
2. cut the body of the rocker down on the inside where its hitting the stud (not even gonna happen with brand new rockers)
3. +size valves and pushrods (also not gonna happen)
4. milling the heads down at the stud bosses(also not gonna happen)
5 try a different rocker, promag?

idk at this point, ive only been able to find one other guy running these rockers, but different guideplates( https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt...383-build.html )
without issue (and coincidentally enough, one guy that is selling the rockers and they have scaring where the body hit the stud)

and heres a vid and a few pics to show what im talking about a little better.

ok first up with 7.2 and stock lifters, you can see it bottoms out on the stud
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...P1010093-2.jpg
this shows if i push the arm down to where the pushrod sits in the cup, i have to slip a .020 feeler gauge to snug it up.
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...P1010098-1.jpg
just a shot of the gp's and the arp studs, as well as the tip marked before turning the engine over to check the wear pattern
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...P1010105-1.jpg
showing how far off the geometry is with the 7.3 pushrod (shortest one i have that will allow me to adjust and rotate the engine) it needs to be lowered by about 0.1 which would bring me back to a 7.200, which i can use because the arm bottoms out
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...P1010106-1.jpg

this is the clearance i have with the 7.3 setup adjusted
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...6/P1010117.jpg
this is the clearance with the 7.2, hard to tell, but it is hitting the body (not the trunion--so regardless of trunion position, it bottoms out on the aluminum first)
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...6/P1010122.jpg

and heres a vid

thanks in advance guys

vid will be up in a sec, hope these help.

i had a similar problem with my comp ultra golds. im running a 7.250" pushrod with thinner head gaskets and ive had my heads milled .010" i had noticed it after i ran it for the first time and i pulled off the rockers and filed the inside lip where it was hitting the stud just a hair. i kept all the shaving out but it was still nerve racking. id suggest (if you can) brining them back and going for a set of proven pro mags or something equivalent. even tho i love my ultra golds there so ******* pretty!
