Default Wanting to Quiet Down Exhaust

Ok, I've had this exhaust for a while and it's time for a change. It's nice and loud but a little too loud now I'm deciding and the car isn't fast enough to be that loud anyhow, truthfully.

Anyways, I've got a tsp rumbler that I switched out with a classic chambered powerstick because I listened to someone who thought they knew what they were talking about but it sounded the exact same. I should have known then when my muffler guy looked at me funny when I asked him to do the swap. I then added two short body 12" cherry bomb glasspacks just before the tips (stock z28 tips) and it did take just enough of the edge off....for the time being. Then after the muffler guy took enough of my money he said, if you want to quiet it down you'll have to put a traditional style muffler in there. That was a long time ago and now I'd like to give it a shot.

I'm not sure if this will do much different or if it'll be a clearance issue:

What do you think? If not in place of the chambered muffler in the middle, maybe get two in place of the the glasspacks before the tips?

Let me be clear, I don't want it quiet....just quieter.

I think its still gonna be loud, why dont you go with a catback like borla or magnaflow? They are a little bit more but you can find a slightly used one for cheaper. Thats how I got my hooker.

I don't think those 1-chambers are going to make much of a difference. Why not swap to a magnaflow and call it a day.

really don't wanna spend much money, it's pretty right right now, but the exhaust has been bugging me.

Where can I put a magnaflow that'll fit? I guess just get rid of all the bullets (straight pipe in the middle) and get a traditional style magnaflow or something that fits our cars? That may be an option.

EDIT: just looked up magnaflow lt1s on youtube....I don't like the way they sound.

I didnt like magnaflow either. Try hooker aero chamber. I love the way mine sounds. I also liked flowmaster american thunder but I dont think that flows as good. You could also try borla I have seen a few just mufflers for sale on here before. Not the whole catback. The mufflers usually go for a 100 or less and you could have the exhaust guy weld it in.

There's really not much you can do with the TSP system since it's a bullet-style cat-back. Only real option is to save the money and swap to a traditional system if you wan't to tone down the sound quite a bit.

I guess I havnt really seen one, but I was thinking he could cut out the bullets and weld in the muffler with some additional piping?

i did the opposite of you. my rumbler was too quiet so i swapped in a LM1 resonator. But in your case i would recommend a Borla XR1 muffler

magnaflow is a great way to quiet down your car without restricting airflow due to them being such a great muffler... some may not like them but i gained 2mph taking a flowmaster off and putting a 3 inch magnaflow muffler in its place so it must be doing something right... also you get a stainless product at a cheaper cost than any other!!!

I wouldn't know where to put it, I've got an 18" or longer bullet in the middle, and two glasspacks just before the tips, basically where the resonators you suggest would go....I've got no piping left to work with! lol.

Good suggestion anyhow, they didn't make those when I was looking into this the first time.

And I do like the sound clips I've heard of magnaflow catbacks, but only when they have ORY, otherwise they don't sound very good to me, and I can't do ORY on my smog legal car.
