With LT's and ORY and tune I picked up about 30 rwhp. No joke. Headers are the real deal.

That guy is a complete moron. Kinda like the local machine shop guy who told me he had an Edelbrock cam for my car that was "3 stages hotter than what was in there but it wouldnt do any good cause the heads couldnt handle it and "the computer wouldnt add any more fuel".

Said guys try changing the cams on LT1's but they just dont make any more power.

Said the only way to try it would be to get a "rhino chip" and reprogram the car. That alone would get me 65hp to the tires, but thats all you can really do to them.

Long story short, dont listen to fagtards who dont know wtf they're talking about.

YES headers are a MUST for anyone wanting more performance, and like the third thing that should be done... CAI, Cat Back, Headers, Tune.

I went from:

13.45@99.9 1000' DA
to
13.15@102.6 1700' DA

With LTs.

If you do the math it basically gave me 40+ WHEEL hp.

Power is all about flow ... you can only bring air (and fuel) in as fast and you can get the exhaust out ... headers definitely, you won't be sorry.

Thanks guys. I also was wondering the same because I just completed the install of CAI/ magnaflow muffler/ and free mods. I believe LTs will be my next upgrade. Oh ... and I second that Jesus will be driving an F body on His way back. Can you imagine talking mods with the big JC. lol

This will possibly start some minor flaming, but he was probably thinking of LSx manifolds (which are closer to shorty headers). The manifolds on LT1s are absolute garbage; headers are more than worth it.

Headers are also great in the fact that they smooth out low RPM exhaust noise (cars with catbacks and stock manifolds tend to "drone" cruising at low rpm) and they give much better spark plug access.

Yes. The biggest thing with headers for me was engine compartment space. Headers and full exhaust make a HUGE difference.

Hey:

The Summit non sales guy must have been talking about shorties, not long tubes. It has given every car I have ever put them on a significant increase in both tq and hp, A noticeable increase, of course you need a matching tune to go with the mods you make...
