LT1 m6 launch, when to shift to 2nd gear?
LT1 m6 launch, when to shift to 2nd gear? I posted this in drag racing tech, but figured I could get more responses here.
I managed to pull a 1.57 60ft time, but it seems before my shift light comes on at 6600rpms like my car bogs and I have to partially speed back up or maybe its just the front of the car coming back down, not sure. I guess what I'm asking is should I shift to 2nd gear before my front end starts coming back down even if I don't reach the 6600rpm shift point?? of course if my rpms are only at 4000rpms I'm not going to shift.

I don't know, I think it would make sense to keep the shift points at the shift light, but I'm no drag racer. I shift my car at about 6800 rpms and I never feel as though its bogging, but I usually spin in first and second 
but like I said I really don't drag race.
