Default good deal or not

i have found another lt1 its a black 97 z28 6 speed t-top 96,xxx miles with perfect body and dark gray cloth interior and it has a ss hood the only problem is it has had a small fire under the hood on the passenger side the engine bay is real clean for the age except for the pass. side it is real oily on the passenger side but its not engine oil it looks to me like the a/c line busted and sprayed on the long tubes has any one heard of that happning the only damge is the alt got blackened and the plug wires got burned a little and the alt. wire got melted other than that the care looks mint the person is askin 3000 but im goin to offer 2500 is this worth it or not thanks for the help

You can pick up used LT1s nowadays for under $3000 that haven't had small fires under the hood. Honestly I wouldn't offer any more than $2000, maybe $2200 tops.
