Default Trac Control

Im new to tech but i have a 97 z28, 3.73, water pump, cai, and a worthless aftermarket maf sensor. I have traction control which i know i just cant unbolt. It looks terrible under the hood and it cuts off my ***** everytime i need to merge onto the highway. It is super sensitive. Also it turns off and on all on its own everytime i get in it. I heard that you need to get different a throttle cable and get the code deleted. Is this true? any one out there take theirs off?
Thanks

yes all you need is a cable from a non traction control f-body. same with cruise control if you want to keep that. no codes have to be deleted. the ABS inop light will come on though.

A resistor will keep the light from coming on. Just so you know, unless you turn it off yourself, you will still have traction control. The gas pedal just won't kick back at you now.
