Default out of nowhere

So I have a friend with a 94 formula m6 that i am posting for. His computer is currently down. Anyway, he got an oil change today and on his way home he stopped at a light and his oil pressure dropped to 0, when he hit the gas it rose back up to 40-60. We thought it might have been the wrong filter so we went and got the correct one and it didnt fix anything. When the car stops quickly, the oil pressure drops to zero and when you hit the gas it goes back up to normal. Any ideas??

the sending unit is bad or the pickup line fell off are the two most likely culprits

call me an idiot but what pickup line? for the sensor? The oil pressure fluxuates just like mine when your driving, its just when you make a sudden stop

the pickup tube inside the oil pan that has a screen on it. Most likely it fell off. Mine did and then my bearings took a shot.

yup pickup fell off. Not good! just hit the bottom of the pan with your hand. if you hear something bounce around inside then it is the pickup. oil pan needs to be removed. Dont keep dropping it down to 0 otherwise he will be rebuilding his engine

this problem needs to be fixed ASAP!

this isnt an LT1 but this is what it looks like. it connects to the oil pump and goes to the bottom of the oil pan so its always sucking up oil.

measure the pan depth and clearance the bottom of the pickup about 1/8-1/4 away from the bottom of the pan..AND WELD IT TO THE PUMP!!!!!!!! No oil pressure is like you not breathing.
