Default 10-Bolt Carnage

I pulled my old rear-end apart to get the Gears out of it to sell..this was my old 10-Bolt that I had in the Car.

The Gears were Motive 3.73's, the Carrier was an Auburn Pro Series rated for 500hp, 500ft/lbs torque.

This was after about a dozen mid 1.5 60ft's on my ET Streets..

I though it was kinda interesting..

When I pulled the cover off of the Car the first time it happened a couple of them chunks fell out so there was more..lol

Damn, some mid 1.5 60s, You got lucky.
when I had the ten bolt in my 6 speed car(well it used to be a 6 speed) i ran 275 60 15 MT Drs and still had the 3:42 gear(actually the cover was never off) I made probably 20 passes in it, Launching almost to the rev limiter and dumping the clutch. It made some weird *** noises sometimes but never came apart. guess I was lucky.
I went with the 9 incher as well, with a spool. I hope that was the last of my rear axle buying days

Na.. It clears it fine. Keep in mind the Torque Arm isn't bolted up in that pic so the Axle is pointed up.

My track rear for this is 3.89's with a Spool.

Here's some pieces of an OEM LT1 auburn-style posi unit out of my 4th Gen. I just took it apart today...

There's a split almost completely through the carrier. I'll take some more pictures tomorrow when I get it out of the housing.

3700+ lb car/driver + Mid 400 RWHP & TQ + low 1.5 sixty foot times hanging the hoops = 13 passes. That's longer than I thought it would last to be honest.

I hear the newer torsen style carriers last longer, we shall see...
