Mod or crate?
So I'm a new member here and I want to get some feedback on what I should do. I want to tell you I don't know to much about building motors :S
So anyways I have a A4 94Z28 which is pretty stock...LPE CAI, Shift Kit, Catback and a PCMforless tune. I would really like to make this car really fast and want to know what route is the best to take. Also my goal is around 350 to the wheels (over that is also ok
) And I only have about 4000ish to spend this winter on it.
The car has 110,000 on it with a rebuilt tranny. Should I just start fresh with a LT crate motor and put my bolt ons that I have on that or should I get new headers, cam and rr's and all that stuff? I really have no idea and have a lot of questions...and I'm sure I didn't give enough infor for you guys to help so whatever else you need to know...just ask please

Looking back on several of my builds, both LT1 and others, I'd say build the car from the rear working forward. Get a solid rear end and rear suspension, subframe connectors, and then start adding more power to the motor. Its not as sexy as building up a motor, but how well is 400hp or "fill in your HP here" going to do for you if you can't get it to the ground. 350hp to the u-joints is cool and sounds nice, but doesn't get you down the road.
