Default Cracked stock elbow.

I have a 94 formula and my intake elbow has seen better days and has developed a nasty crack. It's causing a pretty bad vacuum leak. I'd like to know if there is a way of fixing it besides replacing it. I absolutely cannot afford a new elbow right now. My hours at work have been cut back a lot and I'll be lucky if I get to spend any money on anything besides food and bills. I will buy a new elbow in the spring...I just need something to get me through the winter.

Hey:

You could possibly use black rtv silicone to seal it up but I think you would be better off buying a new one on ebay, before you suck in too much dirt in and ruin some sensors or worse yet, some sand in the motor. They range from $25-50.00 there new, CRT performance or eworlds sales are sellers in that range.

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked into the crt perfomance elbow and I was wondering if you've ever heard anything about it? I might be able to spend 40 dollars if I go without a few things for a while. It seems nice....but it's also pretty cheap.

I had one blow up on me at the track about 4 yrs ago on spray and had a intake back fire and that blew apart, and took out the maf. I put it back to gether with duct tape and drove home with a ses light on and a bad maf. I would either find one on here for cheap or buy a aluminum one and call it the day.

Hey:

I have CRT Performance, they are an excellent value they are good quality aluminum, Backfires not withstanding.

I seen a GTO LS2 have a N2O backfire that blew the FAST intake into pieces, 1 head and the hood off the car, 20 ft away, so they can be very nasty.

They are a very good part for the price and I am judging this by the 2 I own.
