Default Fuel system upgrade needed.

Well brought my car out to the track on Saturday to work on the suspension and my intank pump finally went out after 5yrs. Luckily I have a 255lph booster pump under the car so it still runs and drives ok but only ran 11.09@126mph before i noticed the pump wasn't working. So I am going to a Walboro 255lph intank pumnp and remove my inline pump. So now I will build a standalone fuel system for the n2o and leave the intank pump just for the motor. I wanted to know at what point are upgraded lines, regulator etc.. needed and what is best way to upgrade our fuel system for a 550-600flywheel horsepower LT1 without breaking the bank? It's obvious the stock parts work b/c my car has been 9's with the fuel system thats on it but since I am working on the fuel system, I would like to see what other people making 500-700HP are using. I am also contemplating going to a low pressure fuel system for the n2o like 10psi instead of 45-50psi anybody have pro's and con's to that? LMk Thanks Clint

Are you on a completely stock setup right now? If so you can run stock lines and be perfectly fine on motor, but might upgrade to an AFPR. As far as pressure on a standalone setup, my understanding is that the more pressure you can run is better because you will get better atomization, which means better mix. Hopefully Dave or someone can chime in with more info....

Hey Clint,
I would do braided lines to replace the factory plastic lines..
My idea for a stand alone fuel system would be a small fuel cell mounted in the battery tray braided lines to filter then to selonoid there will be a wide veriety of pumps to use that wont break the bank...

You are right on the borderline of needing a dual pump system. If you are going in, you might as well do it right the first time. There is a sticky at the top of the fueling section describing how to build your own. Cost of a DIY solution can range from $300 and up, depending on the components selected. And you need to plan everything out in advance and take care not to do anything half-fast.
BTW, those who claim to know what they are doing state that the stock fuel lines are good for almost 1000 hp.
If you want a store-bought solution, Lonnies Performance offers a very nice PnP setup with a guarantee.
