I'm not voting. The truth is it depends on what you want to do with the car and what your plans/vision is. Personally I'd go for the stroker, but I also plan on going larger. I'm also staying away from FI, more because my car is mostly a street driver and will only be a track car every once in a while. Therefore I'd go stroker and spray. But this is me. There are others that will say slap a blower on it and be happy. It truly depends on what you want out of the car. For the money you could also turbo the car. A turbo will be less strain on the engine in the rotational department since it doesn't need to spin the blower, and it's easier to street drive and get decent mileage. I know the blowers don't hurt mileage too much, but the turbo won't affect it much at all since there won't be much boost in daily driving (unless you have a lead foot).<----At which point you shouldn't do either if mileage is your main concern....

sorry for ranting....

Go stroke it, and love street driving....

Set a goal, then pick the poison(s) (FI, big cam, N20) that gets you there.
There are pros and cons to each setup, some of which may or may not be a big deal to you
depending on what your specific goals are.

Me personally, if I already had a fully forged 355 I would go ahead and slap the blower on that thing. Youll definiely make good power. Just my .02 tho

You may say that now, but unless you are an master craftsman and tuner, you'll find out that the FI route will be quite a bit more expensive. It's not uncommon to get a N/A motor right the first time; it's rare to do it with a FI setup, unless you're talking a very mild application that wouldn't keep up with a well-spec'd heads/cam 350.
What are your goals? I'm wondering why you're discounting a good heads-cam package on the solid bottom end you already nave.

A FI setup will cost more in the long run.

And because you have a forged 355 probably means it isn't built to handle any boost (lower compression).

I vote neither. Just do a heads/cam package and spray it. More bang for the buck, hands down.

If you can afford FI go for it. If not heads. cam. spray....... One of the two.

plan on fi costing you x2 from your initial thinking. I would go turbo before sticking a procharger on your car. I use to run one so I speak from experience!

Check out this dyno video and check out the comments were the mods are. They are very similar to yours.

Since you didn't say a price, I'll say both forged low compression blown 383 ftw
.

In all honesty if you can afford it FI will beat the **** out of NA if you build it right. Stroking will be cheaper(usually) unless you are going for a *****-out NA build.

I say stay NA!!!!!!! I think you get more respect if you have a car with power of just motor and no power adders.

I say go where the power is. If your current set up will handle a good amount of boost, then there's no way a 396 will keep up (unless you spray or boost it). Either way you'll need bigger injectors and fuel system to handle it, proper tuning, and if funds allow a bigger custom cam (not completely necessary though).

If your motor is already set up for boost than do it or sell the short block you have now and start all over.

A custom ground cam for your specific combo would probably compliment it the best

agreed with the previous about the cam......as for spray.....that's up to you. I would suggest a Meth kit first, as it does the same thing for the most part, and isn't jumping the cylinder pressures as much as N2O. If you run Alcohol it actually raises the octane level of the gas, thereby allowing for more boost. Spray will add Oxygen, which will spike pressure and temp in the chambers.....If you do spray it I would only suggest a little bit on top of the boost.....
