Default engine ping....

Ok just got the 383 LT-1 finished and tuned by Mahem. When running 93 pump gas the motor will ping under a medium throttle, low rpm load and under WOT some. The motor is 11.6:1. the boys at Mayhem could said they could pull more timing out but the more timing pulled out... the effeciency decreases...thus lose more power

Heard i could switch to a colder plug but im running NGK TR55s right now

So for now im mixing 112 with my pump gas and it doesnt ping at all. However this gets expensive at 6.49 a gallon. Does anyone have any ideas on some other octane booster thats worth a crap to run as a substitute to running 112 or any other ideas or possible remedies?

ready to spray this car but not till i can get this ping issue worked out. Thanks!!

specs:
383 11.6:1, T-56, stock heads and lt1 intake, forged internals, hooker longtubes with 4" ORY and bullet dumped, MSD dizzy, 1.6 crane RRs, CC503 cam

your going to have to pull timing to spray it anyway, may as well just do it and be done with it

i had to pull timing back to a max of 36 degrees to avoid light throttle detonation on 91 octane, and I'm running 12.5.

im going to be running an msd digital 6+ box for the nitrous retard. im not gonna run around all the time with the timing pulled out.

what plugs are you running wicked??
