OEM MAF or aftermarket?
Back when I had my opti go out, engine backfired enough times out of the throttle body to ruin the MAF. Kept getting codes for it gone bad with the logs I was making for the tune, so we tuned it out.
Its been tuned out, but would I benefit from using it again?
What am I better off with? OEM or aftermarket?
Was looking at Granatelli MAFs, any experience from you guys?

Any gains in using it again over speed density? As in, will the hp difference be worth the investment?
I know it would probably make the fuel delivery more accurate, but still, what kind of gains am I look at?

have know clue what you're setup is, but on my car, bluecat (the tuner) advised that I ditch the O2's and MAF and let him tune it.
I dont 100% remember what his reasoning was for it, but I know the car rides and drives flawlessly, and made 24.5mpg on the highway with 4.10's and a 6spd like that.
leave it speed density, and take the money u would spend on an aftermarket MAF, and put it towards ditching that opti.

I'm running a CC503 on 1.6 Pro Magnums, Beehives, High-tech pushrods, DIY ported heads with matched intake, blended exhaust ports, Pacesetter long tubes and 3" ORY, 3" piping to the back and Hooker Aerochamber catback, SLP filter, NGK TR55s. Stock stall for now, considering a gear swap soon with the stall.
My O2 sensors are AC Delco replacements. My opti is almost brand new, doesn't have over 1K on it.

bluecat said it wasn't so much about my o2's being bad, as it was any o2 sensor trying to adjust the short-term fuel trim at idle and low-rpm with a semi-agressive cam.
you play russian roullete with your car every time you start it as long as it still has an opti on it.. it could run fine this morning, this afternoon it might **** out.

people switch out the oem ones for granatelli and other aftermarket ones a lot. Over on the formula source forums I saw a guy lose 8hp on a dyno sheet by replacing his oem maf with a granatelli. I might be able to find it if yur interested but i've heard of this more than once, also i've heard they can be a tuning nightmare for some.
