Default LT1 Connecting rods.

Alright as you can tell Im kind of new to the LT1 scene, I have been doing a little homework on these engines and ran across something and wanted to ask..

I am curious, did they use two different styles of rods on the LT1s? I opened mine up from a 93 and it appears to have a style of rod that is more similar to the older gen1 rods like so

"Detailed Description
Single replacement connecting rod. Premium quality GM rod used in the LT1,LT4 and all GM performance parts small block crate engines. These rods are the replacement for the old "pink" rods. Single rod should only be used to replace another powdered metal rod due to differences in weight between older type rods, balance will be affected. These rods weigh 603 grams and are rated for 500 horsepower."

I also opened up Austin(355z28)'s bottom end and his engine is a 95-96 it has a different style of rods that I have seen in a few LT1s.

Now his motor had never been opened up before and mine has, idk if mine are stock rods but I think I may have seen them in a few different LT1s on the internet. That picture is from a website that I found with the GM part number for our LT1 rods 10108688

Thanks!

93's have pink rods. That rectangular area on the top tells you that.

The PM rods from 95-97 (and some 94's) are stronger.
