Default am i getting a good deal

I'm looking on craigslist at a 94 trans am lt1 6spd. The car has 142k miles. Seats are worn as is carpet and steering wheel, it missing the antenna, the left tail light doesn't work, and the door skin is peeled away from the top corner where someone tried to break in. The engine leaks oil and is coming from the timing cover area. The good is the car was painted within the last two years to a blue with white stripes, the hood has been replaced with a ram air hood, the engine and trans run great. All electronics work and doors and ttops don't leak. This is all the info I have and the car is 2500 dollars. Do you think this is a decent deal for a project car? Anything I should look for when I go get it?

Um... IDK man, I got my car (in sig, with mods) for 3k with 85k miles. Only repair in over 1 year of driving was the radiator. The interior is spotless also.

This one needs a lot of work.

Doesn't sound like a car who's owner took a lot of pride in.
At the very least, have a trusted mechanic look it over.
If what you listed are the only problems, offer him $1500.
If he doesn't take it or won't let a mechanic take a look, walk away.

Got any pics?
Any idea why it was painted? and by who?

http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/cto/1474406204.html

heres the ad. the other pics are in my email and i dont know how to post them without resizing. he bought the car for a project from a supposed father daughter who had the car, it was originally white and is now blue. looking at the pics the seals where removed before paint but the lock cylinders where not. i am having trouble finding 6spd cars for less than 6k. my budget is 3ish right now. im going to try for 2000-2200 in person and see if he will take it. its a 3 hr drive from here to get it.

the seat have the normal side bolster tears, the carpet is clean but with a tear below the clutch, he said when he changed the tail lights he found a rusty socket he thinks causing the light not to work, and i have no idea why the radio antenna is missing. the paint is good with the doorjambs and under t tops painted. i will know more when i see it but it doesnt seem to have any mechanical problems other than the oil leak. all electronics work.

Closer to what James said. $2500, no, IMHO.

i payed 2750 for my car (bone stock, 100k miles), only thing wrong with it is that the ac did not work and a few small dents. i think you can find a better deal if you just wait and search. or offer him $1500-1800. IMO
