Default Intake/head Spacer??

Anyone ever build an intake to head spacer??
If I am not mistaken Joe Overton had some built for his car?

Just wondering if anyone has ever done it on here or has pics? In the process of building some for my converted intake.

I have often thought that phenolic spacers underneath the intake-to-head mating surfaces, along with corresponding spacers on the intake ends-to-block would stop a lot of heat transfer to the intake. I think a real performance gain could be had. I, too, have been wondering if anyone makes(or could make) these spacers.

I don't have access to phenolic, but I used some aluminum and built some spacers today. There 3/8 thick and that is one of the main goals is to decrease heat some. I have a single plane that will just bolt to the heads now. With the spacer I have a built in valley as well (1 piece when I get it welded) kinda of like a SBF setup or LSX.

Another goal is for increased runner length, plus its going to look SICK
