Thanks for all the help. Now it once started it sounds perfect except that it doesn't want to idle. It will rev up just fine but once you let go of the throttle it kills itself. i adjusted the idle some and brought it up but that didnt help. you think the TPS or the IAC is bad?

 

sounds like you still installed it wrong. Did it run fine before you touched it?

 

Did the car ever run before this MSD was installed? Or is this the first time its ever started and you have this issue?

 

its the first time having msd on this car. it ran fine with the old opti.

 

it turns out it was installed right but i had a bad coolant temp sensor. that one little sensor controls just about everything having to do with fuel/air ratio, advancing/retarding of the timing and idle.
