Lt1 F-bodies
what did they run stock in the quarter mile? gimme some average numbers I've heard a lot of mixed things but i want to know some more solid info.
I know that a '96 f-body lt1 made 285 HP 330ft lbs of torque, what about rear wheel horsepower stock?
Also how do they compare to like any year GT mustang's from the early 90's to like 06-07 5.0's and 4.6's
I Just want to know where my car would most likely stand being in stock form, even though it won't be stock for long, I just want to know where I stand in the performance area compared to it's "competitors"
I've got a 1996 Formula, with 70k miles and a4 and 2.73 rear gears.
your 1/4 mile will be about 14.2-14.5 as it sits on its best day. your highway gears are what hurt performance.

i did race my cousins dad's 20k mile 07 mustang 5 speed GT300 Premium on his driveway one night, first race he got a bad start i smoked him, second race i got him till i finished 1st gear then as soon as he grabbed second he startted to pull a couple cars on me, third race well i killed him off the line again and after the 1/4 mile was up he only pulled 3/4 of a car on me, i was right on the back fender. now tell me thats not impressive for a 1996 muscle car! mines the a4 with 2.73's BTW
so do you think i did good?
the reason why i still asked how they do against mustangs is i jsut want others experiences or opinions on how they do.

There is the occasional Lemon though.
But always remember this, You have a ******* Corvette engine, people will think an f-body is slower than a vette(stock for stock), take any flow restrictions away and they're the same.
They may be old but the General engineered the hell out of these things, and with the proper care can be pretty sturdy.

! And the camaro's have a little lighter clutch plate I think, I was just kidding about it being slower now, it's a little harder to drive slow but the mid to top end is incredible! Rated HP is just that, some swag for marketing and insurance. YMWV (Your Mileage WILL Vary) from car to car.
Now I have full exhaust and intake bla bla bla. Waiting to get registered again so I can run my other friend with a 2000 T/A Vert. I think he'll get me but it should be close.
Most ran 13.7-14.1 depending on weather, track, driver skills, etc.
