Lt1 F-bodies

Lt1 F-bodies
I want to know some facts on them.
what did they run stock in the quarter mile? gimme some average numbers I've heard a lot of mixed things but i want to know some more solid info.
I know that a '96 f-body lt1 made 285 HP 330ft lbs of torque, what about rear wheel horsepower stock?
Also how do they compare to like any year GT mustang's from the early 90's to like 06-07 5.0's and 4.6's
I Just want to know where my car would most likely stand being in stock form, even though it won't be stock for long, I just want to know where I stand in the performance area compared to it's "competitors"
I've got a 1996 Formula, with 70k miles and a4 and 2.73 rear gears.

Not too sure how you can compare something from 96 to something from 07 as competition stock for stock. Unless GM could see the future, I'm pretty sure they didn't build a 96 LT1 to compete with a 07 Mustang.

even with your 2.73 gears the only factory stock GT you should fear is the 2011 5.0.
your 1/4 mile will be about 14.2-14.5 as it sits on its best day. your highway gears are what hurt performance.

Mustangs are 14 second cars unless you spend fiftey K on a supercharged one. 93 Z28's have ran in the twelves stock w/ a tune and CAI. The new SS Camaro's are not much faster running E10 Gasohol and there is one sitting at a dealership near me for fourty-nine thousand dollars! The LT1 dominated the mustangs stock, that was bang for the buck back then, now Ford is bringing the five litre back out with a special cam that advances and retards crank timing or something like that?

well i'm guessing its a good thing if my cars able to do a solid chirp going into second. Hell if i mash it from a stop with Traction control on it'll stay on til like 65 mph cause all it wants to do is spin. Its an animal with it turned off.
i did race my cousins dad's 20k mile 07 mustang 5 speed GT300 Premium on his driveway one night, first race he got a bad start i smoked him, second race i got him till i finished 1st gear then as soon as he grabbed second he startted to pull a couple cars on me, third race well i killed him off the line again and after the 1/4 mile was up he only pulled 3/4 of a car on me, i was right on the back fender. now tell me thats not impressive for a 1996 muscle car! mines the a4 with 2.73's BTW
so do you think i did good?
the reason why i still asked how they do against mustangs is i jsut want others experiences or opinions on how they do.

The LT1 is at least on par with 05-09 Mustang GTs. I told a stang guy in the multimedia exchange that yesterday and he got really pissed off and called me slow, he was making fun of us for dropping motors instead of pulling the out the top btw,
There is the occasional Lemon though.
But always remember this, You have a ******* Corvette engine, people will think an f-body is slower than a vette(stock for stock), take any flow restrictions away and they're the same.
They may be old but the General engineered the hell out of these things, and with the proper care can be pretty sturdy.

Hell, I had to throw a honken cam in mine to slow it down so I don't wreck it now that I got all the exhaust leaks and EGR stuff fixed! The one thing that sets the F and B body apart from the vette is the staight axle rear! And the camaro's have a little lighter clutch plate I think, I was just kidding about it being slower now, it's a little harder to drive slow but the mid to top end is incredible!

I bought mine new, and it's pretty much the same as yours. Low to mid 14s all day long until the mods began. ACHotrod has a WS-6 so it will be different. On the dyno, my car was about 230 rwhp, totally stock except for a couple of very minor bolt-ons.
Rated HP is just that, some swag for marketing and insurance. YMWV (Your Mileage WILL Vary) from car to car.

Never went to the track but my car made a whole 236rwhp stock and 260 tq. Mine started as an A4 with 2.73's Camaro. Since then I have added intake, exhaust, tuning, had a stall at one point and 4.10's. With intake, cutout, and stall I was dead even with my buddies exhaust and 4.10 04 Mach one.
Now I have full exhaust and intake bla bla bla. Waiting to get registered again so I can run my other friend with a 2000 T/A Vert. I think he'll get me but it should be close.

Mine ran 13.9 stock Manual 6 speed. The newer mustangs 06-09 should be able to beat an LT1 by a 10th of a second. but the pre 05 GTs are like a 10th slower, but then there is the Mach 1 which was a little bit faster than my car stock.

My WS6 ran 13.50 the only time I had it to the track when it was stock back in '96. I then put 4.10 gears, K&N, 160 t-stat, and HPP+ and ran 13.18. All on the stock GSC tires. I had the car dynoed the same weekend and it put down 274/307.
Most ran 13.7-14.1 depending on weather, track, driver skills, etc.
