Whats your engine coolant temperature reading?
Have you checked if your thermostat is stuck? What temp thermostat are you running?
Is your radiator cap holding pressure?

if your worried about air in the system if you can get your hands on a mighty vac or air vac is another name they are very useful for filling the cooling system all you do is stick the tool in the radiator fill cap and use shop air to pull a vaccuum on the system takes all air bubbles out if you did a flush drain the radiator and take the hoses off at the heater core and blow shop air through it start easy and if you know its not plugged off give it a little more for good measure

If it's turning loosely then it's just turning and not actually controlling anything. It should fight back a little bit.

loose = control door not moving (cable came off/broke)
resist = moving the door (proper function)

Bleed the air out of the system and when you do make sure you turn the heater on for like 10 min to release the air from the heater core as well and you should be fine... its what I did to mine and it had the same symptoms

Since the temp door is operated by a cable, there should be some resistance when moving it. If you feel more resistance trying to move it one direction when the fan is on high, then you know the door is working (it is fighting the rushing air as you try to move it).

When you encounter a no heat situation, flushing the heater core usually solves it. Doing a normal system flush does not usually clear the heater core.
