Default Project: Slowest Build Ever

So i bought this car about 9 years ago and I drove the **** out of it getting up to 177k miles after about 3 years. At that very moment the head gasket decided to go and I chose to rebuilt the tired motor. That was 6 years ago. A few girlfriends and a few college degrees later im still working on it. i will be posting some pictures of my build, so feel free to offer insights and criticisms as I go. I will be posting pictures and updates as i take and make them
Here is a couple pictures from right after i blew the motor, sorry about the size

a few months back i picked up of of those generic roll cage kits from jegs that you have to build and cut to fit yourself, here is some pictures from that

Removed Carpet

here you can (barely) see where we had to cut and reweld the cage on the top to shorten, and in the mid section so it would slide around the sides of the hoop

Here is a rear shot with the door bars in

You had the carpet ripped out, why not go with lightweight carpet?

heres a little info on the build:

the motor is a high compression 383 with fully forged internals, splayed 4 bolt main, i have afr 195 cc heads, ls7 lifters, canton oil pan with the melling hv pump, lt4 intake manifold, 58mm tb, still need to pick out the right cam and rockers.

i plan on having a nitrous kit, as a sc or turbo set up is out of my price range at the moment.

i have deleted the ac, and am still up in the air with the power steering, i have deleted the abs, the windshield wiper assembly and everthing that goes with that.

the car is lowered with a pro kit and i have an ls1 lid setup im going to put on it.

we have also switched it to m6 from a4

i want to have the car for street and track, i was hoping to hit low 11's, i do have plans for a charger or turbo setup down the road, but thats a few years out for sure, after i get the motor installed and the kinks worked out of it i will focus on suspension upgrades and appearance
