ICM can be tested at your closest Advance Auto, just remove it and take to the store.

Make sure you have a really good ground to the ICM. I ended up using some battery cable for mine for extra insurance and haven't had a problem since.

I never recommend replacing cap and rotor on LT1's, always replace the whole unit. On the opti spark there's more than just cap and rotor that wares out.

Have you test your plug wires to make sure they are good?

You can actually test ICM, coil, plug wires, opti harness while its off the car. Make sure your ground connection is ok too.

I dunno if it would run for a day or two and then quit but maybe you didn't get the pin slot from the distributor lined up with the cam correct. I'm not for sure about any of that but hey its worth a shot if your running out of ideas.

I have personally seen MSD's go bad after a few days, as well as right out of the box. Go get a stock coil and I would bet you are fine.

I've gone through two MSD 6AL's. Try disconnecting it and run just the stock set-up and see what it does. When my second box went bad it also burnt the plug that connects to the top of the coil. That cost me another $45. Double check that ground wire for the ICM, my stock one was corroded on the inside and gave a lot of resistance. I changed 3 ICM's before I even considered the groundwire.....
